How is the Smart Lipo™ procedure performed?
The laser fiber is delievered through a very small cannula, or tube. It is inserted through the skin into the fatty layer. The cannula is directed back and forth through the fat allowing the laser’s energy to be delivered directly to the fat cells. This causes rupture of the cells and allows them to be permanently removed. In addition, as the laser energy interacts with the skin above, it produces skin tightening in the treated areas.
Due to the cannula's small size, around one millimeter, Smart Lipo™ can be performed under local anesthesia. The procedure causes less bleeding, swelling and bruising, resulting in a quicker recovery time than conventional liposuction methods since the laser causes small blood vessels to coagulate immediately on contact. Because general anesthesia is not used, the procedure is very safe with minimal side effects.

How many treatments will I need?

What is the post-treatment care?
After the treatment you will need to wear a compression garment for two days continuously and then for two weeks only at night. Rest is recommended after the procedure and activity may be resumed gradually as tolerated. Refrain from hot tubs or strenuous exercise for 2 weeks.
