Speed Straightening
Imagine having perfectly aligned teeth - no overbite, underbite, crowding or crookedness. Now imagine having that in six to eight months. If you or your teen began now, you would both be brace-free by next summer, or most assuredly by the next school term.
Today, that's possible with the most technologically advanced breakthrough in cosmetic dentistry called Accelerated Orthogenic Orthodontics, or "speed straightening."
It's the newest progressive treatment for everyone from teens to adults that works three to four times faster than conventional orthodontics. We've used the procedure to straighten crooked teeth, create a better bite by aligning the upper and lower jaws. It even helped to relieve the pressure of TMJ for some clients.
The truly cutting edge nature of the process involves what we call "fooling the bone" into regenerating itself. Minor oral surgery enables us to place bone-grafting material over those areas that need help, enabling the teeth to move easily into place with your choice of braces, including lingual braces or Invisalign.
Clients report they can see changes in days. That's because with standard orthodontic braces, the teeth move one millimeter a month. With speed straightening, they move that distance in a week. You actually see results faster.
What's more, the treatment adds support to the lips, a key benefit that helps prevent the sunken look that can happen with age. The result: a beautiful, confident smile that lasts for years.
Will I still have to wear braces?
You will, but for a much shorter period of time. Most patients have them removed in fewer than eight months instead of the standard two to three years. And you can select the kind of braces you want, including lingual braces and Invisalign.
How soon can I return to work?
Most patients have the surgery in the morning and return to their daily routine the very next day.
Is there any discomfort?
As with any periodontal procedure, there's minor discomfort, but our patients report no significant pain. And we're always available to handle any questions or concerns you have both pre- and post-procedure.
